Just in case you weren’t aware I am kicking off The Jumps Season Service two weeks earlier than advertised so will be uploading my thoughts on tomorrow’s Wetherby and Ascot cards later today rather than waiting for Cheltenham in a fortnight’s time. I couldn’t resist and especially as they are both shaping up to be cracking cards. There are also plenty of interesting young horses running at Wetherby today so I’ll be watching this afternoon’s coverage with a keen eye.
I would also like to draw your attention to a new menu item in the right-hand column called Race Trends which is part of The All-Inclusive Service and where I will give stats on 75 of the top races of the jumps season. As I was best known for race trends, this is probably a long overdue addition to the website. It’s not reams and reams like when I wrote my Betting Guides, more of getting straight to the point and much of it will form the basis of arguments of when I come to analyse those races in Ante-Post Focus and the on-the-day Race Previews so, expect much copy and pasting!
I also hope you will take a look at the Horses to Follow section as earlier this week I put together a ‘Best Of’ version of the Stable Tours that have been appearing in various media over the last fortnight cutting through chaff to only the bits that I am interested in. I will continue to add to them in the run up to Cheltenham’s Open Meeting so please keep popping back to this page up to then and then throughout the season as I am sure there is a nugget or two to help us later down the line.
The next race previews at the overnight stage will be Cheltenham (November 11-13) which was the original official starting date for the service, rather than next weekend as I am off to my annual poker holiday in Malta, though I will be covering the Grade 1 card at Down Royal, Wincanton and the Breeders’ Cup in Ante-Post Focus before I leave. So this weekend’s coverage is just a little added extra. There also just happens to be a bookmakers (more of a lottery shop but they show the racing) one minute from my hotel which is rather handy so I’ll be keeping fully on top of things and be updating the website and taking enquiries all week.
Enjoy the racing this weekend and also look out for Mike Henderson’s darts coverage on Saturday on Sunday covering the televised European Championships. Jeremiah Catskill begins his blogs at the beginning of next week.
